The Association for Women’s Career Development in Hungary, founded in 2003, now has the opportunity to cooperate in the work of UN/ECOSOC as the first Hungarian NGO with “Special consultative status with UN-ECOSOC” gained this year. Mrs. Andrea Ferenczi, the organizer of the conference, President of AWCDH, spoke about the aim of the organization, as a first Hungarian NGO with “Special consultative status with UN-ECOSOC”, to obtain and forward information in the interest of further improving the situation of women in Hungary, since the participation of women in both political and economic decision making is very low compared to the rest of Europe and the world. It is the aim of the Association for Women’s Career Development in Hungary to introduce its projects for gender equality, to improve the employment of women at EU and UN levels, as well as the further best practice policies.
